IBM Notes 9.0.1 FP5 IF2 available for download

IBM has released  on fixcentral the new FP5 IF2 for  Notes FP5 that address some issues:

This IF is cumulative that previous IF1 and you can find all fixlist  here..

If you have one of this issue and you cannot absolutely wait a month for the FP6 ( ETA March 2016) install it but otherwise my suggestion is to wait the next Fixpack

IBM Domino 9.01 Vs IMAP email access and LDAP account

As you probably know you can setup the access of Domino service through LDAP account through Directory assistance and an appropiate configuration of the user mapping (eg. here an old article I've written on Italian blog to explain the configuration)

If you need to setup the IMAP(s) access through LDAP you have to insert some additional fields in LDAP containing some key info like mailFile, MailServer and mailDomain.

This kind of config has worked properly until the first Fixpack of Domino 9.0.1 .

When i've started to install FP1, FP2 or FP3 the IMAP user authentication was stopping work but the authentication was still working properly thorugh a Browser!
I've obviously open a PMR thorough the Support and today I've installed an HotFix provided for my environment (9.0.1 FP3  64Bit Linux) and added this notes.ini setting :

LDAP_ALLOW_UNMAPPED_ATTRS=1

It finally works ! Thanks Graham for the Help !

IBM has also created this technote when this issue is explained as APAR LO84195 .

Traveler 9.0.0.1 IF1 hotfix for out of memory issue

In last days i had some trouble with IBM Traveler 9.0.0.1 IF1 who sometimes stops to respond on devices sync.

After a check in log.nsf i've see some junk charachers like this

After a PMR IBM support has told me this could be a know issue

 - LO77158 - OutOfMemory Java dump because of ThreadLocal data

And they have send to me a cumulative HF for 9.0.0.1IF1 who address also this issues:

    - LO76871 - IllegalArgumentException: URLDecoder

    - LO76877 - NTS_SENDMAIL_SAVE_OPTIONS=user not honored by Traveler  

    - LO76944 - Traveler issue with multiple IPs on the same machine

    - LO76965 - BB 10 attachment file names are corrupted in Notes

    - LO77041 - send Updated notice as plain text

    - LO77066 - Duplicate reply notices sent (1 just plain mail)

    - LO77101 - Memory leak on Notes Traveler, users not able to sync

    - LO77160 - WP: Notes folder with no name causes sync to stop

    - LO77174 - BB: 01/01/1970 bday/annv lost when edited on device

Fortunally IBM support on Traveler is great and fast, but now after 10 issue on this fix, i'm waiting for a 9.0.0.1 IF2

Traveler 9.0.0.1 HotFix available through PMR

In these days i've one issue on a Traveler 9.0.0.1 on linux server and after a PMR i've received a HF who adress the following issues

    - LO76180 - Non-Image mime embedded attachments not readable on devices

    - LO76400 - Pending messages requiring streamed content holding up other messages 

    - LO76458 - Trying to recycle String value

    - LO76474 - CHANGE DEFAULT TO NOT ENFORCE ACL ON CORPORATE LOOKUP

    - LO76476 - Traveler must honor Server_Restricted on primary mail

    - LO76487 - derby.index-stat-thread uses excessive CPU

    - LO76547 - Fix synching loop on accepting invitation on delete errors

    - LO76550 - BB10 devices request MIME but need more control over attachment

    - LO76603 - Workaround for BlackBerry having two copies of mails in Sent

If you have one of these issues, you have to contact IBM support to obtain that fix.

I like also to propagate the IBM disclaimer about this kind of fixes

    This is an informal Hot Fix to be used to verify problem resolution and to be

    used as a temporary solution to any high priority problems as deemed by the customer. 

    By installing this Hot Fix, customer agrees to install the IBM formal fix, usually a Fix Pack,

    once it is available that will supersede this Hot Fix.
