New sametime client released - fix for super small chat text on Surface Pro 4 included

I just received with automatic update a new release of Sametime Client connect client


this is the 2 fix contained on this update

To receive automatically this fix from IBM Cloud server you have to be enabled  the live update from Settings -> Tools -> Enable / Disable live update

IBM Sametime 9 Rich Client Cumulative hotfix for March 2016 available

During last weeks IBM has relased on fixcentral a new cumulative fixpack for IBM Sametime connect with this new issue addressedd:

• Performance improvement for bizcard
• Images lazy load in Sametime Chat window and Chat History window
• Fix for a potential audio quality issue with built-in microphone/speaker on Mac
• 1x1 file transfer: auto switch from p2p to server based mode when both policies are allowed and p2p is not working between the two users

IBM Domino 9.0.1 Fp4 IF3 and Domino 8.5.3 FP6 IF10 available for download

IBM has released 2 new interim fix for Domino 9.01 FP4 and 8.5.3 Fp6 that address some issue regarding GIF converting process

Traveler 9.0.1.4 cumulative fix available via PMR

IBM support have developed a cumulative fix available via PMR.
This are the apar corrected both on Windows server and Linux

• LO84144 - Appointment instance change may not sync to iOS device in some scenarios set NTS_CALENDAR_DELETEADD_APPLE_APPOINTMENTS=true in Traveler server(s) notes.ini to enable fix.  
• LO84747 - Some Mime Audio/Wav files are not getting synched to the device correctly
• LO84756 - Removing last invitee from meeting os iOS does not remove invitee from server.
• LO84790 - ParseException: Expected ';', got  "xxxx" on malformed mime content type.
• LO84792 - Email on Verse client has zero byte attachment called ./alternative
• LO84845 - Large mime email bodies with extended ascii characters are not readable
• LO84861 - Meeting notices deleted from device are not removed from non-inbox folders

The following are Windows specific

• LO84939 - When first enabling trash sync, device may get error trying to delete an item
• LO84941 - OOO from iOS8 device may fail due to using invalid device ID
• LO84943 - OOO time may show in server time zone instead of user time zone in reply email
• LO84947 - Traveler defrag on Derby runs with errors 
• LO84957 - Accepted state not reflected on invite ios device after been accepted for non-repeat meeting

If you have any of this issue open a PMR to obtain this new updated setup (upgrade supported also from  9.0.1.3 ).

This fixes will be included in the next major release.

IBM Sametime Proxy 9, new update with new APNS certificates and fixes

IBM has released  on fixcentral  a new cumulative fix for Sametime 9.0 Proxy that include the following enhancements and fix

• Significant performance improvements related to high CPU usage
• Updated APNS ceritifcates
• Improvements to push notifications for iOS devices
• Added Desktop Notifications preference for Web Chat
• Improvements to mobile experience for use within Third Party applications
• Fixed intermittent issue where HTML tags were appearing in chat transcript
• UI improvements

The new APNS certificates are important because they are needed for push notifications and the Apple certificates are exiring in the first weeks of June, so i suggest to download and install this fix soon.

IBM Traveler 9.0.1 IF7 and 9.0.0.1 IF8 available for download

IBM has released new IF for Traveler 9.0.1 and 9.0.0.1 that introduce a good numeber of fisex including APNS certificate, some iOS 8 fix and TLS server to server communication.

I think IBM support is making a very nice work with Traveler with frequent bugfix and releases supporting all new OS and addressing a lot of bug, well done !

IBM Domino TLS and SHA-2 support , bye bye Poddle we have the fix

IBM in last days has released 2 high important fix who insert support for TLS 1.0 on all protocol (HTTP, LDAP, IMAP, POP,SMTP)  for this Domino release version 9.0.1 FP2, 9.0, 8.5.3 FP6, 8.5.2 FP4, 8.5.1 FP5 and also insert the support for SHA-2 certificates.

This is the compleate features list:

Added support for TLS 1.0:

• Inbound and outbound connections
• Over all protocols (HTTP, SMTP, LDAP, POP3, IMAP & DIIOP)
• All platforms including support for IBM iSeries running System_SSL
• SSL/TLS Session resumption
• Client certificate authentication
• TLS protocol support for TLS_FALLBACK_SCSV Signaling Cipher Suite Value to protect browser clients that also support TLS_FALLBACK_SCSV against downgrade attacks.
• Will negotiate from TLS 1.0 and SSLv3 if other party does not support TLS 1.0. Note that protocol version *negotiation* is a different thing entirely from protocol *fallback*, as described in POODLE.
• The cipher suite list offered by Domino when making outbound connections has been re-ordered to place the AES ciphers first.
• Serviceability enhancements to make logging more thorough and easier to read and understand

Removed support:

• SSLv2
• SSL renegotiation has been disabled
• All weak (<128 bits) cipher suites have been disabled

The SHA-2 support was insert through a new command line tool named Kyrtool  who could handle SHA-2 request and import SHA-2 certificate in Domino kyr files.
This tool could work only with Domino 9.01 FP2 IF1 and 9.0 IF6 , so here you have another reason to upgrade your Domino environment to 9 if you are still on older release !

Some (secret) fix released in last days for Sametime 9

In last days IBM has released some fix for Sametime 9 and has make that available on the fix central site

All fine about have new fix for Gateway , System Console. Meetings Community and Client , but we will like very buch if we could see the information relate to this fix!

If i try to click More information link i could not see the because i'm not in IBM Sotware Accelerated Value program... but i could download these fix!  I totaly don't understand this kind of behavior..

If anyone could help me with the fix detail .. will be really appreciated

Sametime Proxy 8.5.2 , Chrome 29 and White chat .... Workaround !

If you have tried to use Sametime after last Chrome 29 upgrade you have seen that the chat windows now doesn't work correctly because you can't not see the chat history (upper window white that do not show your text or other user text) and so is totally unusable...

After a PMR , IBM has told me last Chrome Browser supported was the 13.. so they don't do anything about that issue on Chrome 29..

Luckily I've made a post in Sametime forum on www.notes.net and Olle S Denker has provided to me a link to his fix on Chrome Webstore !!!

PS i don't like at all when IBM support works this way... Traveler fix are developed every month more or less and for complex environment like Sametime we have to wait the next major release ??
